Soft tissue

Decompression, where everything else compresses.

Suction applied over tight fascia and muscle to decompress tissue and improve local circulation — often paired with hands-on work in the same visit.

What it is

Cupping applies gentle suction to the skin and the tissue beneath it. Where almost every other manual technique presses into the body, cupping lifts — which is why it can reach restrictions that pressure-based work tends to push past.

Why we use it

It's well suited to broad areas of tightness through the back, shoulders and legs, and to fascia that has become restricted and glued down over time rather than one specific knot. It also pairs well with movement — we may ask you to move the limb while the cups are on.

About the marks

Cupping can leave circular marks for a few days. They aren't bruises and they aren't painful — they're a normal response to the suction and they fade on their own. Tell us if you have an event coming up and we'll plan around it.

Who it suits

Cupping is comfortable for most people and is a good option if you find deep-tissue pressure hard to tolerate. As with everything here, it's used where it suits your presentation, not applied by default.
